Autumn Leaves
This was a strange year for autumn leaves. The summer was very dry with absolutely no rain during July and August. The result was that some trees changed colors early and others were late. I have divided the pictures by date, in some cases taking pictures at the same place with totally different colors over the period of a month.

This is the swamp on Reed Brook. In the background is the north side of Kissacook Hill. At this time, the yellow is birch, the red is maple and the green is either oak or pine. Oak trees turn brown when they loose their chlorophyll.
This is a school yard just at the base of the northern side of Kissacook Hill.
At the edge of the field, the trees are starting to turn color.
This is view of Kissacook Hill. The color is just starting to appear.
