Wildlife

Part 36

The Great Blue Heron is probably the largest bird in this area.  It stands in shallow water and watches for fish, frogs and other aquatic life.  It withdraws its head into its neck and darts its pointed beak into the water to catch its prey.  It is very shy and can be well camouflaged.  It stayed for over a week and I was able to get some good pictures, thanks to my telephoto lens.
