Boulders-South

These boulders are deep in the woods and surrounded by thick brush and trees.  Sometimes, it is impossible to stand in just the right place for a good picture.  Since this is the middle of winter, the sun is low on the horizon, even at mid-day.

This is another old boulder.  It is much larger than a car.  It is full of cracks.  On the top are small pine trees growing from the accumulated leaves and pine needles.  The pictures are taken around the stone to show all sides.

Notice the rock propped against the base of the stone near the wall.

There are some interesting rock piles, or cairns to the south of this boulder.
